Hindoostan Mills Limited is a part of the Thackersey Group, one of India’s oldest and most reputed business groups, and having diversified industries in its portfolio.

The business ventures of Thackersey Group began in the year 1873 under the leadership of Sheth Thackersey Moolji. Hindustan Spinning & Weaving Mills Ltd. (now known as Hindoostan Mills Limited), a company with the objective of manufacturing cotton textile goods, started in 1873. The company was amalgamated with another group company viz. The Sirdar Carbonic Gas Company Ltd. in the year 2011 and name of this company was changed to Hindoostan Mills Limited on May 24, 2011 (hereinafter referred as HML the Company). HML, a listed entity with Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd., is headquartered in Mumbai and is engaged primarily in the manufacture and sale of textiles in India and overseas. The group also runs an Engineering Division which is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of calendar bowls, calendaring machines, squeeze rolls and related products for the textile, steel and paper industries in India and overseas.
