The Telangana government has so far procured 53 lakh tonnes of paddy from farmers cultivating paddy during the rabi season. For which 7,100 paddy purchase centers were opened across the state. At the same time, Rs 1180 crore has been paid to the farmers for this. It is noteworthy that this year, the area under paddy in the country had increased by 32 percent to 46.25 lakh hectares in the rabi season. Out of which the maximum area was in Telangana. Paddy was cultivated in about 19 lakh hectares, followed by 12.21 lakh hectares in Tamil Nadu and 5.51 lakh hectares in Andhra Pradesh.
At the same time, the Civil Supplies Corporation, ie Civil Supplies Corporation, which has undertaken the procurement of paddy in Telangana, is close to achieving its target of 62 lakh tonnes for this season. The Civil Supplies Corporation has also started the process of closing the procurement centers where the arrival of paddy has stopped. While according to an official associated with the corporation, the procurement is likely to continue for a week to 10 days.
Every grain of grain will be bought-
According to Telangana Today, till Friday, the corporation has procured over 53 lakh tonnes of paddy from 7,100 procurement centers opened in the state for the season offering minimum support price. At the same time, the arrival of paddy was estimated up to 62 lakh tonnes for the season. As per the assurance given by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to the farmers in the state, the corporation has planned to purchase each and every grain of food grains.
Significantly, the State Government had provided the facility of Bank Guarantee to make immediate payment to the farmers, to mobilize resources and to enable the corporation. According to corporation officials, the state government has paid Rs 1,180 crore for paddy purchased from farmers on the occasion of state formation day on June 2. At the same time, another round of payment is expected to be made on Monday. The amount will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the farmers. Apart from this, the corporation is making arrangements to clear the dues as per rules.
